From Mittenwald to Lake Ferchensee

Synopsis: Visit Mittenwald's most lovely lake for swimming and bathing on a hot summer day. Also possible with a normal crossbike. If necessary, you may push your bike at the final short steeper step for the length of about 150 m. Variants: Extend the trip to Elmau and Kranzbach, or hike around the lake. Also a paddle boat trip is an experience. | ||||||
| At the southwest end of Mittenwald we go up the road leading to Leutasch . We leave this road in the first sharp curve and go straight on following the signs to Lautersee / Ferchensee. | |

| At the Lautersee the surface of the road changes and we ride on a well maintained gravelled forest road. The view back to the Lautersee below us and to the Karwendel is often photographed for calendar pictures. Take a deep breath here, before the road becomes steeper. | |

| The last 150 metres uphill we can also push our bikes until we reach the Ferchenseehöhe. But now quickly back into the saddle and ride down to the picturesque Ferchensee . | |
